All students have a right to learn in their own way. Differentiating lessons and creating an inclusive classroom ensures that all students can access the material, learn, and thrive in the classroom. I ensure that all of my lessons are adapted to reach every student in my classroom, and that the environment is one where all students feel accepted, smart, and capable.

Manipulatives
I always have manipulatives as an option for students to use in numerous subjects. Visual and kinesthetic learners benefit, as well as allow students to to discover numerous strategies to reach a solution.

Daily Schedule
Having a daily schedule beneifts all students in the classroom, and is an important part of a Universal Design for Learning. It teaches students time, time management, and also helps them know what is coming up in the day.

Word Twister
Integrating subjects allows students to learn different skills. Students practice balance and reading while playing word twister!

Water Balloon Math/Reading
Giving students a goal (hitting a target) helps engage student in the subject material (language and math), and makes them excited to learn.

Exemplar
Modelling is an important aspect of differentiation, and having a visual representation of the task helps all students understand the assignment. It also allows for a discussion of success criteria.

Anchor Charts
Anchor charts benefit visual learners, and also teach students how to seek out information, helping to nurture independent learning.
