Teacher - Crafter - Nature Lover
Welcome! Bienvenue! My name is Dominique Patnaik, and I am a year two teacher candidate at the University of Ottawa in the primary/junior division. My focus is on Comprehensive School Health, focusing on the whole health of the student. This means ensuring that students have the support and tools they need to care for their mental and physical health, as well as nurturing ties between the student and the community, the teacher and the home, and between all members of the school.
I am passionate about the environment and gardening. In my spare time, you'll often find me taking care of my garden or hiking the local trails. I also love reading, and always have a book or two on the go. My interests of subject matter are wide, ranging from history to mysteries to biographies. Another thing you will find me doing is any type of crafts. Knitting is a favourite of mine!
I am a strong believer in accessibility for all, and strive to ensure that whatever job I am doing, whether it is teaching, retail, or recreation, that people of all ages and abilities can access the service or material.
Most of all, I have a love of learning, and I will never stop looking to learn and grow. I am curious about the world around me, and hope to spark that curious in others!
